Dear Film People,
You’re looking for a horror film, and I’ve got one for you. I’m going to give it to you in normal English, because pitching never worked, and it’s a little on the hard to describe side. Think of this as a “From Dusk Till Dawn” kind of plot.
It starts as that slasher film you don’t want but at the cabin in the woods takes a left turn and the redneck torture family starts getting picked off by the real monster which is psychokinetic.
Psychokinetic, if you don’t know, is when you can communicate your thoughts through mind waves as opposed to telekinetic where you can move things with your mind. The monster can make you hallucinate.
I’ve written the hallucinations to take place in black and white making them easier to stage. The special effects being very visual can mostly be achieved with simple objects and green screen, and some film geek up at CSU Fullerton said it would be fifty grand to film this, but that was years ago and, I think, as a TV movie.
I’ve also written the film as a novel, so if this is getting into theaters that’s one more bit of merchandise to sell. This is a script that will stand out for the odd story and logic that powers the plot. With the right director it could really be something.
Best,
Richard Leland Neal
