Information Dominated Warfare

29th October 2024

Hey McBeth,

In regards to you looking for a name for your Counterfeit Proof Tactic in Information Dominated Warfare I would call it A Cuckoo’s Egg Meme or perhaps a Trojan Horse Proof. Another name for this could be a Gas Light Meme or some combination of those terms. I believe in this case the Gas Light reference is the strongest but least known.

I’ve been following the story of Kamala Harris having worked at a McDonald’s and the fact that it is unproven. The image that surfaced of Kamala in a McDonald’s uniform that was intentionally faked looked wrong to me from the start so your video on the topic was expected but well done. I have stayed away from talking about this because it is unproven and you shed some light on things.

The idea that someone would manufacture fake evidence like the photograph only to debunk it later reminded me of a tactic a teacher of mine used in high school to teach the children to question what authority says. He presented that idea that an object losing mass would gain speed and even did an experiment that he said proved the idea. Then he explained that this was impossible as the mass lost would take inertia with it as it was lost.

Now that I think of it False Truth Tactic would work just as well as any name. Cuckoo’s Egg is clearly meant to represent the brood parasitic bird that lays its eggs in other bird’s nests. The meme in this case would be the egg and the exposure of its falsehood being the hatching. The other side took the meme and held it up as truth as the bird took the eggs as its own.

The Trojan Horse Lie would suit it but there has been at least some talk of the great Trojan Horse not being a statue that troops hid within but rather a battering ram with a horse’s head carved on the ram. People would still get the idea, but history may not be kind to the name.

Gas Light Tactic would be in reference to the play “Gas Light” by Patrick Hamilton and the form of Psychological abuse known as Gas Lighting. This is the situation where a person or body tries to convince someone to doubt their own reality. The term is becoming more common in politics.

I knew a man who would do things like make a joke mispronouncing the name of M. Night Shyamalan as M. Night Shama Lama Ding Dong. When I made the same joke he corrected me and acted as if he had never made such a joke despite having made it ten or more times. He was trying to Gas Light me and make me think that I had imagined him saying that.

In any case, those are my thoughts and I imagine I’ve knocked lose your opinion on what the right name should be. You’ll know when it feels right.

Keep up the good work,

Richard Leland Neal
