'The Twentieth Century and the Harlem Renaissance: A History of Black People in America, 1880-1930 (African American History)' by Stuart A. Kallen is a collection of short biographies that tell the story of many African Americans who have made great contributions to our great American culture.
It should be noted that this book is on the older side of things and so the terminology may be considered dated. This book is so important that the library will only let you keep it for a week. In that week I learned a good number of things that surprised me and even more that I would like further study on.
Who should read this book? Lovers of history
