'The Doorbell Rang' by Pat Hutchins is the story of a mother who just made cookies, but more people keep showing up to eat them.
The mother and baker of our story doesn't ever stop to have a cookie, which is unfair, I guess she's watching her weight. Otherwise this is a lovely story about cookies, math, and sharing. Every time the doorbell rings we see the cookies be divided again.
I would, however, say that you shouldn't read your children this book unless you are having cookies because, well, who wants to look at cookies they cant' eat?
Who should read this book? People who have cookies.
