1994 Royals Yearbook Review

So, this is my only surviving yearbook from Jr. High School. There is very little I can say about it as there is almost nothing in the way of commentary. This book is just literally pictures with names.

I have to say this brings back nothing but bad memories. My Jr. High was a hive of nasty and from what I'm told, people who live in the area can now hear the children, eleven to fourteen year old's, cursing as they walk home.

Who should read this book: Just about no one unless you have one, and you want to look back on things.

Kind of Special Strange

The first signature from my 1994 Middles School Yearbook is from a history teacher and the second from a student who went on to be a cartoonist in high school. The lesson here is don't judge until you know people I guess.

Bert Bye Erick

I had to blot out a few things from these signatures from my 1994 Middles School Yearbook. Phone numbers and such, I have to think they wouldn't be the same people after all these years.

Blossomed

Here are three more signatures from my 1994 Middle School Yearbook. I believe the first is from my art teacher and the second two from fellow students. That feels so far away now. It's almost like it was another lifetime.

A Joy to Know

I believe this is the woman who got me into theater arts. Looking back at my 1994 middle school yearbook I'm not sure I would thank this woman for all she did for me. Theater was never all that great in the end.

Bye Imagination

Here are two more signatures from my 1994 Middle School Yearbook. I'm winding down this collection. I'm trying to post them all but not all of them are that interesting.

Inventive

So, John here as come up with an inventive way to sign my 1994 Middle School yearbook. Okay, well, you made my job hard but good job.

Eyes New

Sometimes folks have nothing to say and this is the case with Mr. New who's inscription in my middle school yearbook from 1994 was somewhat scant. Then I'm not sure that Ms. Ball did much better. Oh well, at least they wrote something.

Ricky, Ricky Soon

In my life I have never been able to hold on to people. This is one of those cases. I think I remember this girl. She was the 13 year old equivalent of sexy. At least I thought so at the time, but what did I know in middle school? If I were to look her up in the yearbook I would hope that I'd think of that picture as that of a child. Back in 1994 I was hardly alive and I'm almost surprised that I had her sign my Middle School yearbook.

From Walrus to Caliban

I can't put a face to the name at the bottom of this signature from my 1994 middle school yearbook but she watched me on stage.

Have a Cool Summer

When you go back to 1994 in my life the signatures get a little thin. Later in life I guess they stay thin but this one from my middle school yearbook just isn't about much.

Hope and Sarah

From my 1994 Middle School Yearbook

It was only my second year of middle school when I started collecting signatures. This was because I had difficulty spelling and didn't like signing things. Back then I went by Ricky, because I couldn't spell Richard. This changed my first year of high school. I'm preserving the signatures from my yearbooks now.

Who knows, maybe someone will see them and enjoy them.

                 "To: Ricky

                        Hope you have
                        fun in the summer,
                        and good luck next
                        year.

                                        Bye

                                    Hrigo P."

Now, this next inscription I have no idea about. I recall a Sarah or two in middle school, it is a common name, but "Jaws"?

This could be a reference to the 1979 James Bond movie Moonraker. There was a vary tall fellow in that film with mettle teeth that they called Jaws. This girl could have had braces and just run with the nickname.

Unless she comes back into my life somehow I guess I will never know.

                    "To: Ricky

                            Have a cool
                            summer, and don't
                            get too hot!

                                    Your friend

                                            Sarah
                                                or
                                            Jaws"
